Hi, from behind the lens.

Lauren Fowler - LM Fowler Photography, Macedon Ranges

I'm Lauren, and The Macedon Ranges are my canvas.

Local to The Macedon Ranges.

Connected to the Shire.

Watch colour explode with me.

The Macedon Ranges boast some of the most beautiful skies in Australia. I’m free to explore my love of vivid colour, exploring a landscape that changes dramatically with the light and the seasons.

It started as a way to escape. A moment, for me.

I initially gained recognition for my landscape photography through Instagram. I now keep over 17,000 feeds bursting with colour.

I create authentic, honest pieces that capture the landscape as I see it.

Capturing a singular, fleeting moment - a brief explosion of colour across the landscape as the sun rises; the ghostly, glowing fog as the warmth escapes from the earth - it’s a lot of waiting, and being in the right place at the perfect moment.

Poetry in frame.

Your story, through my lens.

Since I know you like a good story, here’s mine.

I’m a country girl at heart after growing up in a small Victorian country town called St. Arnaud.

I studied medical laboratory science in Bendigo (Bachelor of Applied Science), and started working in a laboratory in Melbourne in 2000.

From cell science to landscape photography, intricate details are what I look for.

It wasn’t until the birth of my first child in 2004 that I gave in to my quiet longing and bought my first DSLR camera - a sturdy Nikon D3000.

I’ve been living in The Macedon Ranges for over 10 years now. A small community, with fresh country air and wide-open spaces to bring up my four children.

My interest and skills in landscape photography have grown organically over time. I look to the outdoors for a sense of stillness and calm.

Being out amongst nature is where I am - and always have been - happiest.

Now, what’s your story?
